Overview of Your Tour
St. Augustine isn’t just America’s oldest city. It is a place where every street whispers a story that spans almost five centuries. This 90-minute walking tour invites you to do more than hear about history. You’ll stand in it, feel it beneath your feet, and see it rise up in the stones around you.
From the city’s original streets laid out in 1598, to the towering stone fortress that has guarded this harbor for centuries, every step connects you to more than 460 years of resilience, discovery, and culture. You’ll walk in the legacy of Ponce de León, the father of Florida, feel the footsteps of the city’s founder Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, trace the bold vision of Henry Flagler, and hear the echoes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as he marched for change.
During the brief period of British Florida, you’ll also discover the lesser-known legacy of the Minorcans, a resilient community whose struggles and perseverance became the cultural glue that held this city together, even as their story nearly faded with time. These are the threads that weave St. Augustine into something far deeper than a collection of dates and monuments.
But this tour is more than just the past. It is about helping you fall in love with St. Augustine today. We will point out our favorite spots to eat and drink, the hidden corners most visitors miss, and insider stories that bring the city to life in ways no guidebook or map ever could . By the time we are done, you will not just know St. Augustine. You will feel at home here, already planning your next trip back, because you will realize a single visit could never hold it all.
